Opens their new skyscraper building as their new head office and wins Best Life Assurer Southern Africa for the third consecutive year.
Assupol’s Chairman, Andrew Birrell, announced the appointment of Riaan van Dyk as the new Assupol Group CEO with effect from 1 July 2017. Riaan is no stranger to the company as he has served as a non-executive director on the Assupol Holdings Board since September 2013. Riaan’s roots are firmly entrenched in the insurance industry. As an actuary, he has an intimate knowledge of how the insurance business operates. “In the past two months, I was placed in a privileged position of getting to know this remarkable company better from the inside. Though considered to be a relatively small company in comparison to the competition, Assupol has year on year proven to be a market leader with consistent gains even during tough economic times. I look forward to being part of the successful team that will take Assupol to even greater heights.” Riaan stated.
Another development for the company is the opening of its new headquarters, a skyscraper building with ten floors at the heart of the metropolitan business node in Menlyn, with Assupol’s building being the highest landmark in Menlyn, Pretoria.
The company’s headquarters were previously based in Menlo Park, Pretoria. The new Assupol headquarters is the latest addition to the fast developing skyline of the Menlyn area. Group CEO Riaan van Dyk said “Assupol has enjoyed a lot of success in various areas in the last ten years, but this move is arguably one of Assupol’s greatest milestones”. Riaan further expressed Assupol’s excitement about this expansion stating that it signifies yet another momentous occasion in the history of Assupol which has been serving South Africans for more than a century.
Assupol has once again won the coveted 2017 Capital Finance International (CFI.co) Best life Assurer in Southern Africa Award, for the third year running.
Bridget Mokwena-Halala, Assupol Life CEO said “It is an honour to be recognised for our excellence and the value that we add to all our stakeholders. We strive to treat our clients fairly by giving them outstanding service and products that are specifically tailored for their needs.” She further said that Assupol received the award again this year due to the company’s “continued dedication to operational excellence” and remaining true to its core market and services. She added that the success that Assupol enjoys is owed to the hard work and dedication of its employees, intermediaries, and business partners.
