Assupol is proud to announce that it will be the main sponsor of e.tv's gripping telenovela, Ashes to Ashes season 2.

On Thursday 18 February 2016 a stylish launch was held to officially announce the second season at The Venue in Sandton. The atmosphere was filled with buzz and excitement as guests entered the room. The MCs for the night, cast members Nambitha Mpumlwana and Mandla Gaduka dazzled the audience with their humour and entertainment. Snippets from the previous season which led to the continuation of the show were also screened with the prince of theatre Atandwa Kani delivering a fitting theatrical piece that describes the family dynamics and secrets.

Ashes to Ashes season 2 returns with much anticipated drama, new characters, more secrets and more drama. The newest cast members who will be joining the SAFTA nominated show are, Tina Jaxa, Atandwa Kani, Nqobile Sipamla, Shoki Mokgapa and Nandi Nyembe. The show received 6 SAFTA nominations which include Best Achievement by a Supporting Actor in a (TV Soap), Best Achievement by a Supporting Actor in a (TV Soap), Best Achievement by a Supporting Actress in a (TV Soap), Best Achievement in Editing (TV Soap), Best Achievement in Directing – TV Soap and Best TV Soap.

“The show played an integral role in launching the 8PM telenovela slot for the channel and viewers couldn’t get enough of it. We are thrilled about the new season of Ashes to Ashes and are sure that it will keep viewers consistently entertained”, said Monde Twala, Managing Director for e.tv Channels Division.

The telenovela is set against the backdrop of a family-owned business in Tembisa, Namane Funerals. The funeral parlour is headed by the husband and wife duo, Mandlakazi and Selogile Namane, who inherited it from their parents. The pair have created an empire with the assistance of their children Tsietsi, Monwabisi and Reba Namane. On the surface all looks well, but the Namane family is haunted by deep, dark, secrets, which are constantly swept under the carpet to keep the family intact.

The new season of Ashes to Ashes season 2 will start from Monday, 14 March at 8pm. The show will air Mondays to Fridays on e.tv.
